For box joints (finger joints) go to the
The Woodworking Channel
click on video library - then, on top of the video window slide across until you find "the router workshop"
then, go down the video list on the right of the window, to "trivets, trivets, trivets". That's the jig you use for finger joints. It is easy to make, 1 groove and a short fence or you can buy the jig at OakPark.com. Now watch some of the other videos. There are some that show the box joint being made.
You can also see the RouterWorkshop table "in action" that, too is easy to make.
My tables have been a poor copy of the Router Workshop one, (I bought their baseplate), one stuck on the end of my mitre saw stand, and my current selection on a 2'x4'x36" high base with a variety of tops.
This is a start. Lots of experience on this forum and a lot of different methods of using a router. Read and ask questions.
