Hi Paul

A hose will do it most of the time, you can make a adapter(s) quick and easy with hole saw bits or you can get many adapters from Rockler ,most are not cheap like the ones you can make from stock you have around the shop.

I use my plunge PC router on top of my router table most of the time in that way I can just plug in the vac hose that hangs from my light ,(see snapshots) I also have one on a PC that is a stantard adapter that works well when I use the MilesCraft tools..
I also let it hang over the router table when I use the brass guides to pickup the chips and that works great also. (see snapshots)

The HOSE,,The boss had a old vac cleaner that I took the hose from, it's just the right size for most of my routers with a 1 1/2" out put.
