We're on our second Digital, a Canon Powershot A520. Awesome camera, has some cool features, but VERY easy to use. I think it is almost "dummy" proof. For under $200 bucks, I don't think anything comes close.

Our old digital (still in use) is a Kodak easyshare 4330. My wife had good luck with it, but I have some trouble getting decent pictures.

At work we use the older powershot 510 (the reason I bought the 520), an Olympus, and the old Mavica workhorse. All 3 are surprisingly rugged with the amount of abuse they take, but the canon wins my vote as favorite.

Megapixels aren't everything, anything over 4 is really pointless unless you are printing posters. I'd be more concerned with the Optical zoom. A 3x optical zoom is pretty standard, and gives great pictures. Cameras from "camera" companies tend to have better optics in my opinion.
