Default New England Candlestick

Category: Woodturning.
Here's my latest. Although I've entered it under turning, the base is entirely routed from go to whoa. The two pieces were jointed (toungue & groove) on the router and the ditching and beading done using a combination of straight and roundover bits. All thanks to reible's excellent small circle jig (Thanks for the tip Ed. Her indoors is still wondering what happened to one of her plastic chopping boards. I blamed it's disappearance on the rising crime rate and I think she believed me.)
The wood is Rimu and finish is two coats Danish Oil with a beeswax finish. Style is taken from a pair of New England(?) sticks in "Country Quilts" by Linda Seward.

I've cut it twice and it's still too short! But only at one end.
