Just goes to show -- a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
I was basing my judgements on comments I had heard here -- and elsewhere --
advising me that even my 1.5 hp 1/4" shank router was minimal at best for using shaping bits such as raised panel or rail and stile.

Thanks for the clarification.
I understand the concept of torque vs speed etc.

Still not sure I would invest in one --
But - I would love to come across the Delta unit.

BTW -- the MiniShaper (third on your list) looks and sounds pretty much like the HF unit -- but with fancier 'cosmetics'. Interestingly it is listed at $20 LESS than the HF unit.
