I guess I just don't get it
Why make something so easy so hard
you can use the brass setup bars or just about anything that's 1" ,lets say you want a 3/8" wide slot 1" from the edge, you would just put the brass bars in place or a 1" setup block and make the pass quick and easy if you want a 3/4" slot you would put in a 3/4" bit and do it the same way...
The fence doesn't come in to play so to speak it just used as a setup point for the brass bars, the fence can be off center of the table by 30deg. it makes no difference.
But this is just my 2 cents......
