That was just a ballpark but here is how I came by it -
Assuming the stand was 3' high x 2' square the bare bones stand I sketched out (the one without the cabinet) would take about 48'
( I think - if I did the math right)
- or 6 8' boards.
I paid about $2.50 each for some 1x4 pine this weekend for some box beams.
6 boards @ $2.50 = $15
I figure about a pound box of screws @ about $5
This is for a VERY basic and quick stand --
Obviously - if you use nicer wood and/or add the cabinet feature etc --
things start adding up.
