Question Blistering Hot Bearing

Hi Folks -
After running with no load for 15 - 20 SECONDS!, my brand new router gets
so hot at the collet-end bearing you can't touch it. The manufacturer's customer service department tells me that this is normal and is no problem.
I just can't accept that. I have had four other routers (all stolen or given away) and I don't recall that they got very hot. Does anyone here know for sure whether or not this should be considered a problem?
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
