Default Well Glenmore, you asked for it.

Because I have to keep on the right side of moderators, here is the requested photo-shoot of the lathe table. It is in no way intended as a tutorial, it is simply showing the methods that I used on this occasion, the last table was fully dowelled, the next one may use halving joints. The width and depth were dictated by the piece of 1" thick Melamine coated particle board that I bought a while back from the local salvage yard for about $3.00, and the height was suggested by Bob Noles as the centre about level with my elbow. The rest of the timber was from a huge cable drum and is of unknown species but it required a lot of machining on the jointer and planer before I could get started. It won't surprise you that I had no plan drawn up, only the measurements so it simply evolved.
