Hi raybo

Just one more spot to get some Alum. Plate CHEAP,,,,most towns have a scrap yard that buys ALum.,copper, brass, etc. you can get some great deals on the Alum.Plate by the lb. the norm,,the size you want should go for a buck or two ...sometimes they will cut it to size but you don't want to do that the norm just buy some that will cover what you want and need and put the rest of in the corner of the shop,,,it's always nice to have some around the shop...

I have built a router table designed by the "Router Lady" which was posted in her book. The table has a unique feature that allows mounting of the router vertically so that one can rout small pieces or ends of large pieces.
The drawback is the cost of the aluminum plate that is needed for the support of the router while postitioned on at a 90 degree angle to the table's base. I priced out the cost of a 1\4 inch x 6 inch x 15 inch aluminum plate at $70.00. This high cost sort of negates the DIY feature so I went with plywood. This seems to suffice-until my new Bosch router falls off. Please let me know if you are aware of a source of less expensive aluminum plates. Thanks.
Raybo.
