How? easy
Put the mitre gauge in a vice, standing verticle, and zero the wixey on it's side against the gauge.
Then put the wixey on the mitre gauge face and adust to 90 or whatever you want.
because the gauge works from the zero'd referance, the mitre angle is always dead on.
