Hi Steve:
I don't remember where I read it, but the suggested height for work surfaces such as router tables is found by measuring the height of your elbows above the floor and then subtracting two to three inches (50 to 75 mm) from that. This would lead to your hands being slightly lower than your elbows when you are working with the table.
