Fred, the good news is most name brand routers will do the job. The tough part is deciding on which has the controls operating the way that is most comfortable to you. Nobody can tell you which will feel best in your hands so it is time for some travel to get your hands on as many different models as possible. A good reference point is to start with Bosch in the HP range you are looking for. Odds are the grips on one brand will feel better to you than others offer. Some controls have you squeeze the plunge lever to lock, others to un-lock. Most staff members own Bosch but that does not mean it is the right choice for you.
