Hi Glenmore,

Thanks for the sympathetic words. I have decided to not use a poly cutting board to make the miter gauge out of (just too messy with all those shavings flying around). I will venture to use Phenolic or experiment with tempered hardboard. Should be fun and a good learning experience again. Do you happen to know why there is a semi-circle opening on the top of the one Bob & Rick use, where the locking knob is located? I would think a simple swivel point would suffice.
