These are also nice on older computer systems. The "box" plugs in the wall, the computer plugs in to the power tool outlet. Then you can have the printer or what have you plugged in the accessory plugs. When you turn the computer on the the other accessories are also turned on.
In the shop I hook the router into the tool outlet so when it gets turned on the "dust collector" gets turned on........ something the router workshop guys need. You could add a light to the other accessory plug or buy one of those old electic clocks that plug in, set it to 12:00 and see how long you use the router in the shop that day......... You do know that by law the router gets a break every two hours, right?
