Ed, I know it's easy to switch your computer and peripherals on with one switch; do yourself a favor and use a good surge supressor strip instead. My local electric company decided to change a transformer without telling anyone. They paid for the damaged appliances and computers but the inconvenience and wait for reimbursement made a believer out of me.
