I've used "Router magic" & "woodworking with the router" to help get me started.
Building a router table/cbinet now. The enclosed cabinet type with DC for in a basement may be a consideration (allthough many strong views out there). (

BJ (above post) & others have many differnt routers so I'd lean their direction on router type vs $. As with almost any ? you have about routing.
