| Registered User Dedicated Member | I enclose thumbnails of my toolbox for storing my DowelMax tool and accessories. I thought this was anappropriate project for this contest as it uses box joints made with the Router Worksop box joint jig. I also routed simulated "feet" in the corners as shown in a box-making project from one of Bob's books. The top is raised panel construction. The box was cut apart after the box joints were completed. The interior dividers to separate tool components were placed in grooves inside the box and the bottom was also in a groove. The hardware had to be heavy-duty to protect the heavy components in the box.

| Registered User New Member | usuALLY ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO PURCHASE BITS THAT CREATE FINGER JOINTS FOR EDGE GLUING. I'VE FOUND THAT USING A STANDARD ROMAN o/g BIT WORKS ALMOST AS WELL AS A COMMERCIAL FINGER JOINT BIT .BY GIVING A LARGER GLUE SURFACE.THE PROCEEDURE WORKS AS FOLLOWS,LAY OUT YOUR BOARDS WITH THE GOOD SIDE UP.FLIP OVER ALTERNATE BOARDS AS TO HAVE ONE GOOD SIDE UP,THEN ONE BAD SIDE UP.THE RUN THE EDGES OF EACH BOARD THRU ROUTER SHAPER TABLE. GLUE AS USUAL |

| Registered User Jr. Member | I completed this a little while ago it consists of 1 Drawer and one File Drawer on wheels. This took me quite a while since I do not have a full set of Router bits(just the basics). I decided on T&G jointery with a small bevel on all sides so it took many passes through the Router table. Made out of KD Fir 14 Stiles and 2 Rails on each Drawer front. I think it turned out quite nice and hope you like it. Last edited by Daryl; 11-27-2005 at 11:05 AM. |

| Registered User | I made two bookshelves that display the books facing forward for easy recognition by my one and three-year-old children. Each uses canvas to make pockets for the books and one was even designed to match the stripes on the wall of my son's room. I saw this in a catalog and decided that it would be more fun, cheaper and easily customized if I did it myself. This is my first project using a router table. What a great investment. I'll upgrade sometime to a drop-in table, but for now, the screw-on has been a great addition to my workshop. This was my most recent "pregnant project." I built a deck with the last one and moved into a new house with my first. I also layed down wood laminate floor throughout the ground floor of my house since completing the shelves. We'll see how many other projects get done before number three comes along. |
