While reorganizing my router work station, I found that I had a duplicate Oak-Park ¼ inch box joint spacer jig that I must have doubled up on during an ordering frenzy. It was brand new in the original packaging. I stood there and looked at it for a while trying to decide what I was going to do with it when a little light came on to have a contest and offer it as a prize. Over the years I have taken so much from this forum, I thought this would be a good way to give a little something back. Here is a link to the jig at Oak-Park. http://us.oak-park.com/catalogue.htm...-&product=F014 This jig will work on any router table by means of drilling 2 simple holes. This is what I would like to do: All Router forum members are eligible with no exclusions. Projects submitted can be of your choosing, but must be a project built during the next 3 weeks from today. Projects can be anything from furniture to boxes to jigs or anything else you can come up with that can be completed before the deadline of midnight July 7, 2007. Completed projects must be posted to this thread with no less than 4 progress pictures and a brief narration of the project and steps involved. Since this is a router forum, I think that some part of the project should include use of a router so let’s make that mandatory. At the end of accepting entries on July 7, we will begin a voting poll on July 8 that will last 2 weeks and end midnight July 21, 2007. Voting will be done by the forum membership from all entries submitted and the winner announced at that time. The prize will be shipped free to the winner anywhere in the world which makes this contest wide open to anyone entering. All times and deadlines above are USA EST. Remember that your entry is being judged by the membership and not any individual or group, so this is who you need to impress and not me. Good luck and let’s see your best work. I hope to see many entries and boost forum participation. Let’s everyone get busy and may the best project win. This contest has been approved by The Router Forums administration. Bob N

Bj, As much as I think the mini router table would make a great entry, I must refer to the already stated contest rule in fairness to everyone. "Projects submitted can be of your choosing, but must be a project built during the next 3 weeks from today." Please understand and do not be upset.

"A real nice thing to do Bob! Looking forward to the entries of which I will not be entering a project since I have the jig already" Please do enter Corey because the chances are that you could win and send the prize to me!
__________________ Harry The best advice that I can give a newcomer to routing is, learn to use the router mounted, this can be as simple as a board held in a vice, with the router firmly attached and a simple fence held with clamps, and when he/she feels competant and confident in it's use and is familiar with all aspects of safety, THEN, and only then proceed to learn how to use the router hand held. This is MY opinion, and may or may not coincide with that of the forum management, but is based on a lifetime of woodworking. http://members.dodo.com.au/~sharry02/ | ||
