Default Contest Winner Announcement
Report Post Report This Post!

The voting phase of the June contest has ended and our winners have been decided by the membership of this forum.

Personally I think that everone was a winner. The contestants for their chance to get in the shop and make a project using their router and skills and the membership got the opportunity to see many excellent and beautiful projects of inspiration. I for one learned a lot from the entries and had a great time hosting this activity. I do hope someone else will pick up the tourch and have a contest of their own.

I want to thank each contestant for their hard work and takng the time to share so much with us. Your efforts are very much appreciated and your projects were outstanding. I wish it were possible to have a prize for everyone who entered because everyone was truly a winner.

For those who are new or who have not yet viewed the entries, they can be found in this thread.

And now for the winners as decided by vote..... (Drum roll please)

First Place..... Harrysin for his excellent clock

2ND Place....... Axlmyk for his outstanding router table

I will be in touch with both of you via private message for the information to get your prizes out to you right away.

Again, a BIG thanks to everone, especially this forum, for everything.

The best advice that I can give a newcomer to routing is, learn to use the router mounted, this can be as simple as a board held in a vice, with the router firmly attached and a simple fence held with clamps, and when he/she feels competant and confident in it's use and is familiar with all aspects of safety, THEN, and only then proceed to learn how to use the router hand held. This is MY opinion, and may or may not coincide with that of the forum management, but is based on a lifetime of woodworking.
