Question Problem replying to a post.

What does this mean?

The following errors occurred when this message was submitted:

1. Could not find phrase 'x_contains_urls'.

I can see no reason for it. I did no searches or anything else that I know of. It shows up when I try to submit my reply which is just simple text.

RouterForums.com is setup so that users can't post links until they reach a specific post count. Currently you only have 3 posts, I believe the number is 10, once you reach 10 posts you will be permitted to share links with the community.

Hi, I replied to my own introductory post 'Hello' from 12/10/07 in an attempt to thank several members that responded, but am not sure if that was the best way to reply. Is it possible to send a reply to a group of members or did I use the best method.

Thanks,
Whyknot

You did good.
To post to several members, you would have to send a Private Message to each.

Unfortunately, it seems a little TOO restrictive - you can't even mention a company by website ("oh, I got mine from blahblah.kom") or put in your post something like "search the WMW for XYZ". Replying to a post that similarly includes references also makes trying to get around that error a bit of a pain in the butt.

This method or regulating posting has eliminated spam from our site. If you want to say you bought from a web site then say "I bought from XYZ at their site." It does not take long to make 10 postings and then the restriction is removed. We have the best woodworking site on the web, with the most information because of little things like our spam filter. We welcome comments on ways to improve the site, so if you know of a better way please tell us.

Hi Mike,

It's been a while since I had less than 10 posts. Does a message appear indicating that a person needs 10 posts if they post web addresses prematurely?

I am one btw who believes you are doing an awesome job. Thank you for all your efforts and you're absolutely right. This is the best forum anywhere on the net as far as I'm concerned.

Ed......:-)

Hi Ed.
I think it does, not exactly sure. Been awhile myself.

BTW, the admin, mods, are doing just a fine job IMHO. And, yes, this IS the best site by far.
