| Registered User New Member | Hi all .Just taken receipt of a new 1/2" router(Hyhundai-cheap but cheerful and seems quite good- only time will tell).Somewhat disappointed as it comes only with an alternative 3/8" collet. Is this normal for the majority of cheapo's?Is there anything I can do to be able to use my existing stock of 1/4" cutters with it? Thanks in advance Norm |

| Registered User Forum Geek | You might check with the company and see if the have an alternate collet available for purchase. Many of the larger well known brands in the 1/2" size either include a 1/4" collet or adapter with the router when you buy or you can purchase it as an accesory add-on.

| Registered User Jr. Member | Woodcraft and I'm sure others have shank adapters. Not cheap but may be less expensive than a new collet. Here's a link. http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=8167 |
