Default 1/2" collet with 1/4" bits

Hi all .Just taken receipt of a new 1/2" router(Hyhundai-cheap but cheerful and seems quite good- only time will tell).Somewhat disappointed as it comes only with an alternative 3/8" collet. Is this normal for the majority of cheapo's?Is there anything I can do to be able to use my existing stock of 1/4" cutters with it?
Thanks in advance
Norm

You might check with the company and see if the have an alternate collet available for purchase. Many of the larger well known brands in the 1/2" size either include a 1/4" collet or adapter with the router when you buy or you can purchase it as an accesory add-on.

Woodcraft and I'm sure others have shank adapters. Not cheap but may be less expensive than a new collet. Here's a link.
