Default Help - joint description/picture

I have seen bob and rick make a joint on their shows. I uses a rabbit and a 45 on one piece, then the cut the second piece with a 45 bit. I have their books and have searched the forum and the web but can't find a good description/picture - setup instructions. In one of their books I saw this joint in 5/4 +- material, but the description and pictures weren't clear to me. I'm using it in 3/4 cabinet grade plywood on a hanging tv stand for a friend to connect the corners. Anyone know where I can find a good description. cbmarshalljr@msn.com

Just follow the link to the description then follow the tip link below the description. You should find all the info needed to make the joint.

I followed your link and found that this isn't the joint I was refering to. I found this joint in your book. The joint I am looking for starts with a rabbit in one piece, has a 45 on the top. The other piece is a full profile 45 bit cut in the end. The finished joint interlocks. Sorry I can't describe it better. I've seen rick make this joint on the show.
By the way I guess you heard that PBSYOU is off direct tv. I watched your show every day, sometimes twice. I'm pestering Direct TV and PBS to put you on every day. I really learned a lot watching, even reruns. Thanks for the education. I do have all your books. cbmarshalljr@msn.com

Hello cmarshall,

Are you talking about a 45 degree Lock Miter Joint. See this Pic and Bit 45 Degree Lock Miter.

Hey Bob and Rick, I checked out the new Tips web site and it looks real good. I shall stop by often and continue to check it out. In regards to PBSYou, get them to purchase a couple of new seasons of shows and come back on the air.
