Default Newbie Question on Routing jig-tables

I am considering purchase of router table and Incra jig. Why purchase an Incra 24" jig over a 16" jig? All the info I have read indicates all routing cuts are made directly at the fence. So why have a longer jig that is located BEHIND the fence?

Thanks

Thumbs up size matters but how big is enough?

Not always so my friend. Grooves and dados are often cut way off of the fence. We are not always living on the edge.

It also gives you the ability to use your incra jig on the table saw as well.
