Also I should mention the kite was adjusted to a more flat profile for the picture. In real life there are more twists so it spins better, and while it is spinning it looks even better. BTW that is a type "or s/b ro" not a new spelling for project......... Ed Last edited by reible; 09-30-2004 at 09:41 PM. | |

| Registered User Sr. Member | Depends on the size of wood but I make serviette holders (I think you lot call them napkins ) and pots stands .... pretty simple glue up a couple of pieces of wood into a square, rout a profile on the edge and glue dowels as uprights that trap a larger dowel to hold the serviettes down. The pot stands are just a frame (similar to a door), mortice and tennoned together, with a piece of ply rebated into the back to glue a ceramic tile to. Both of these are easy and quick. I'll take some pics tomorrow and try and post themAaron

| Registered User Member | Along this same line I was wondering if wood from pallets would be good for any projects? I notice we always have a pile of them sitting by the dumpster at work and the wood doesn't look that bad from 200 yards away. ![]() |

| Registered User Sr. Member | Yeah the clock was my first attempt at angle half laps (which I managed to do on the router table). It didn't turn out too badly I think - just don't look too close!! Yip serviette is pretty much said the way it looks - serv-i-et. It's just what we call napkins. I would like to see the finished result if you get around to the clocks. Aaron
