arkwood is on a distinguished road

Default How would you do this??

Making a playing table using 3/4 ply. Drilled hole to start and cut 9 inch strip off of perimeter of sheet of ply, oval on each end. Covered center section with 1/4" foam and wrapped down around edges. This made center 1/2" too large to fit back into outer strip. Being foam I figured I needed an additional 3/16 off the inner side of the outer piece all around, which would allow for good fit with compression of foam. What would be best way to take off the 3/16 using a router. Arkwood

You will need to make a template the correct size and use a flush trim bit or one sized to work with guide bushings.

Hi arkwood

I think I would use a rabbit bit, many come with diff. size bearing that will let the cutter hang over the bearing....,once around and then go back with a hand tool to finish the job ( hand drill, mounted with drum sander) to remove the small lip left over from the router pass...
