| Registered User Forum Fanatic | Please let me know. I am using PorterCable pc894pk. Base 1001 fits 8902 moter-unit. I found it in FAQ. Does Base 75361 which might be better base than 1001 also fit 8902 moter-unit ? I can not find it in FAQ. I wonder WHY Porter Cable does not accept question except US and CA. I want to import several goods at one time. I was taught about bits. I found BRASS info. in this forum. But fixed base fitting 8902... I can not find it in forum. So please let me know. |

| Marine Engineer Forum King | Benny, the part you want is 8901 fixed base for 890 series routers. The 75361 is for the big 3+ horsepower motors. The 8901 has a built in lift mechanism for use in a table, and allows you to quickly change motors or bases by openning the motor clamp and disengaging the height adjuster. I love it for use in the table. http://www.amazon.com/Porter-Cable-8...tag=dogpile-20 The one thing to check is that your motor has a black gear rack bolted to the side. This engages the height adjuster on the fixed base. If not, you'll have to order one at about $2.50 US, buy the machine screws to bolt it on locally. The Rack is part number 911807 available thru https://www.dewaltservicenet.com Hope this helps,

| Registered User Forum Fanatic | Benny, I agree with kp91, the 8901 base is designed specifically for the 890 series routers and it offers more accurate adjustment. That being said, I believe that the 890 routers will work in the 1001 base. It requires the removal of the rack on the 890 motor and it will fit. scrollwolf

| Registered User Forum Fanatic | Doug san, scrollwolf san, Thank you very much. Is it right for me to understand that I can use 1001 with 8902, but 75361 is impossible ? Last edited by Benny LaBaw; 08-02-2007 at 08:10 PM. |
