Default Porter Cable 6931 base sticking

I have a PC 6931 plunge base which is extremely difficult to put on and get off the router motor. I've tried to clean off both the motor and the base with a fine abrasive pad, but that doesn't seem to have helped.

Any suggestions?

HI hes

This is LONG SHOT

You may have a small crack in the motor mount base,,,this can come about by closing the motor clamp without the motor in place,,,or over clamping the motor down, it's very hard to see so you will need some help, pickup some graphite from the auto parts store or the hardware store ,it comes in a small plastic blow on tube,, put the motor back in place and put some graphite on the out side of the motor mount,,,take your finger and move it around the base, the graphite will show the hair line crack,, if you find one then it's off to the PC service center and with some luck you will get a new one..
