| Registered User Member | A couple of quick, simple (I hope) questions for those of you who might have this router. I have had my Bosch 1617 for several years but am just getting into making some accessories for it. What size are the base plate mounting screws? I contacted Bosch and their customer service rep didn't know (go figure!). I only have an Imperial screw gauge and the closest I can come is 8-36 but it isn't a real good fit. So I suspect it my be metric - M4 seems a good probability. I want to get some flathead machine screws that fit so I can make some accessory bases and since none of the hardware stores in my area carry M4 flathead screws, I'll have to order online. Want to make sure of the size before I order. What diameter are the edge guide rods? I've tried 3/8 and while they fit, they seem loose. 10mm maybe??? Thanks. JimC |

| Registered User Member | Router Is Still My Name, Thanks for the URL, but I need to find the actual size of the screws. Standard replacement screws are panhead; for building optional bases, etc. I need flathead screws that will also be longer than the original screws. Guess I'll just have to take one of my screws with me to some place like Fastenal since nothing locally carries small, flathead metric screws. JimC |

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi Jim Take one of the screws to the ACE Hardware store, and pickup some Allen flat head metric screws they have almost all of them in stock most of the time, they are a bit high in price but you only need 4 at the most,,(1.25 for 4 of them) this will beat the min.sale at most fastners supply outlets... It should be a 4mm x 20mm screw... ===========
