I would like to have an edge-guide to attach to the baseplate of my Ryobi RE 180 PL, but have not been able to find one. Does anyone make one for this router?
Alternatively I would make one, but am puzzled. The two horizontal holes in the baseplate for an edge guide have a diameter of 0.364", measured with an internal caliper. What size rod is supposed to go in them?
I assumed some standard available size plus a little for sliding clearance. Thus for example 0.375" plus a smidgen would make sense.
Likewise the spacing between the two holes is bizarre at 3.332". A dimension of 3.25" or 3.375" would be easier. Nor do these dimensions translate into any rational metric measure.
Any hints or help will be much appreciated by this puzzled edge-guide novice.

Hi xmonday

Edge guides are easy to make your own, out of hardwood or plastic.
The plastic or hardwood will take on threaded holes or you can use a tee nut to lock the rods in place or thumb screws will do the job also.
You can also used threaded rod because it's just a bit under size after it's been threaded.

For the rods just buy some long 3/8" bolts, cut off the heads and threads and because most bolts now days have rolled threads on the them the rod is under size and should be just right for the holes in the router base...

Below you will see a quick and easy one you can make.
