I am recently retired, live south of Tampa, have a garge shop and have minimal router experieince and am looking forward to acquire skills to make furniture grade small boxes as gifts for grandchildren

I have 2 PC routers, a small table top Oak Park Router table, $200 box of woodline bits and Woodline spacer system

I am interested in learning how to make box joints, splined miter joints and inlaid edge banding.

I am trying to rationalize buying an Incra LS system at the upcoming Tampa woodworking show in March.

I have a 14 inch bandsaw and variable thickness planer and am taking the first steps to resaw wood, fashion miter splines etc

I look forwrd to becoming a contributing member to this forum

Welcome from Michigan! You said you recently retired, I retired almost 7 years ago. My pearl of knowledge to you is wear a bathrobe with short sleeves when in the shop, oh ya, leave the garage door shut unless dressed. Dressed? Is that word in a retiree's vocabulary?

Welcome Tom. Unless you have already decided on the Incra system you should consider the Oak Park box joint jigs. At a fraction of the price you will be turning out perfect joints almost instantly. There is even a nice sale on now that includes the dovetail liner jig and the Projects and Jigs book. This is something worth consideration.

Welcome Tom! Glad you joined us.
If you are wanting to make a bunch of different joints, dovetail, double dovetail. box, etc. then the Incra is the way to go.
