The thing about feeding the wrong direction is that it isn't an absolute rule. There are situations where it is an acceptable technique, but for the time being, until you become a lot more confident and familiar with the tool and bits, stick with the guide that Stick posted...way safer.
( in the spirit of full disclosure; at this point I only use my routers hand held, and a kickback although unexpected and unpleasant doesn't risk my fingers...they're firmly on the router handles and safely out of harms way.)
