| Registered User New Member | I have a porter cable 8259 router that I will use in permanent table mount. I would be interesed in any observations about removing the springs. I ask PC about this and they said it is possible, but recommended I take it to their service center. I don't mind doing this if I can discover how to do it myself. John |

| The Router Guys Forum King | Difficult task with that router and I think you need the service depot to do it...not designed to remove the springs.

| Registered User New Member | Do you recommend that I have the springs removed? It seemed that it would reduce the force to crank the router up from the top of the table. John |

| Registered User New Member | Having just read a post on last years forum it raised a concern with removing the springs on my 8529 router. Here is what another users experience: "I removed the springs from my M12V and the router would jerk while lowering it. So, I put the springs back in." Would this condition apply to my 8529 router? I can see it being router specific, but that depends if the router depends on the springs alone fo the force to raise it. Could the weight of the router, in a table mount, handle the lowering of the router? John Pierce |
