Default Good day - my intro !

I'm grateful to have found this resource for router users. Like many who 'discover' this tool, I'm basically starting from scratch.

My wife & I are fairly good at home renovations & trades work. We have a variety of saws and woodworking tools, but haven't really progressed beyond basic carpentry.

Although we have made birdhouses, stools and bookcases, there have always been issues with doings things with more precision and durability.

I took woodworking in high school & that's going back a LONG time ago!

I'm planning on making my own kitchen cabinets, drawers ... the works .... a total custom project ... we bought a fix-me upper home a few years ago & this is the 'cadillac' project that will begin NEXT spring. In the meantime I'll be planning, getting a bit of practice in advance & likely starting on some of the easier components.

I bought a decent router 'package' - including a table, a full assortment of bits and a good brand name router.

There's two more 'units' left to complete my workshops ( I have 2 of them - one in the basement & one behind the garage) but for practicality purposes, things need to be portable (within reason of course).

We live in Manotick, Ontario. It's a rural setting just south of Ottawa, Canada's capital.

IF I have anything useful to contribute down the road, I'll be sure to do so.

In the meantime, I'll be learning - like many others I suspect.

Thanks to the moderators and contributors in advance for your input. It goes without saying that a forum is as successful as the participants are willing to make it.

At first glance, it looks like a HIT to me!

Thanks to all ...

Ronald & Willa

You may get some help from my web page... expecially on jigs, etc. which I think are one of the most important things with woodworking... learn to make them on your own...

Welcome to the Router Forums Guys! Something for you to think about if you got all the tools for your cab making project is room! IT takes alot of room to build a set of cabinets and then store them while in the different processes etc. That is the biggest reason I didn't build my own cabs. I am in the middle of a kitchen remodel as well. About halfway there I guess. Again welcome to the forums and have fun!

Corey
