Hi Folks,

I'm new to this forum but have been a woodworker for awhile. I am getting tooled up for some production runs that will require a lot of router and template work. I plan on using a pin router and would also incorporate a router lift. Are their good plans for either item or would my time be better spent purchasing already made devices. I will be using a PC Speedmatic for my new router table. Thanks for your opinions.

The largest templates are roughly u-shaped and approximately 18" x 24" for one and about 22" round for another. I'm planning on the router table top being 36" x 30" with the router centered 13" to 15" from the front edge.

Well the 18" x 24" should be ok but the other one you may have a error with...it...
The error comes from the pin router,it needs to be bolted to the top and the norm is a 9" from the edge ,,,on the bolt down bracket...

I have made a home made one that didn't work that well so I got one from MLCS with all the parts but then I had to add to it so I could get under the pin, with a 2" spacer block, then it comes to the router,,,,you can move the router up from under the table top but that can be hairy and a be scarey because the bit must be spining to get it into the stock...

If you get one that can move the router up from the top side of the router table you can't get to it when you need to raise it up...you can buy one that's elec.that works but it's not cheap..

I have not used the one I have for a bit ,once I found a new way of doing the job... and it's easy to make and it's cheap and it works great..
it's called SKI jig... like the pin router you need a template but then you would use your plunge router and not your router table/pin router..

The plunge router holds a brass guide that will copy the template to a tee..any size...

If you look on the left side of the post you will see a Gallery item, click on it and you will see many items of the ski jig...how to make it from sq.1...
