Default Sign Making

I like to make signs for a hobby. I got a kit from Sears and tried it. That junker went in 2 days. It was cheap and pain in the butt to use. I make my own template out of plywood and my jig saw. It turned out OK, but it did not have sharp lines. Maybe more practice with the jig saw wil help. Can any one recommend a good sign making kit for home use.

Welcome to the forums Lou. I had the old Craftsman and it worked fine. The one they sell now is also the same sold under the Milescraft name. Check out an old but goodie book called Sign Making from Patrick Spielman. Alot of tips etc. on making signs free hand.

I got the same kit as a Xmas present this year. A few false starts with the same issues everyone else has experienced but now I've worked thru them.
Made this with it. (Grandaughters name)
