Default Thank you for the welcome

Hi,
Thank you for the welcome.
I'm just an amateur woodworker.
Trying to build a Router Table to attach to my Craftsman TS and maybe I can get some insight on a few ideas from this Forum members.
I'll just watch and observe.
Thanks. Mario Pinto

Hi Mario

I would suggest Not to attach it to the table saw,,,,make one (cabinet) that's same height as the saw but don't attach it...it's always nice to have the extra support for big jobs on the table saw BUT because the router table works in a diff.way...and you will need to use both about the same time...

They both need a fence to do the work..and just about always one will be in the way of the other...( fence) and most of the time you don't want to move the fence around just to cut some more stock..

If you place it on the right side of the table you will need to used the router table from the back side of the table saw or the side of the table saw.

If you place it on the left side you use it from the front of the table saw but because the left side of the table saw is always the short side of the top,,the norm..if it's not attach you can just swing it out and use it the right way..and still have a support cabinet for the table saw when you need..
Most floors are not level so you want to put on some type of leveling/lock device on the cabinet...
Grizzly and others sell a base that have both and can just put the cabinet right on it or build in right in the base of the cabinet..

Here's link to what it looks like..

You're welcome Mario and glad to have you with us. Be sure to jump in every once in a while. If you build a table as Bj suggests. Maybe you can post pictures of it?
