| Registered User New Member | Hi all. I'm new to routing. I've also searched quite a bit. Ever notice the engine seems to bring up mostly the same set of threads that are on the regular pages no matter what you search on. Never seen that before. Anyway. Here's my story. Bought this really old stone house 1.5 years ago. I'm finishing up the bathroom and looking on to doors, moldings and cabinets that need to be replicated from originals nailed to the attic floor and trashed. The joints are mostly tongue and groove with a few others thrown in. I bought the bosch 1617 combo that was promo packed with the guide kit and I got the table with the cabinet base and really nice fence. No Bits though. I've seen T&G bits for 25 on ebay (junk I presume), for 56 at lowes, and for over $100 online. Where's the best place to buy quality bits? What brand should I get? If I need to spend more than 100 I will, but If I only have to spend 50, That's be better. Thanks! |

MLCS bits are good quality at reasonable prices plus they sell Katana which is the next step up. The thing about router bits as well as anything else, you usually get what you pay for. Buying cheap will cost you more in the long run. A wise man once said, if you only have $200 to spend on a saw it's best to spend $50 on the saw and $150 on the blade. Spend the most on the part that does the actual cutting. The same goes for the router.

| Registered User Forum King | Hi stonehouse and welcome. Wise words from George I'm the bottom of the world and buy my bits from MLCS over the net. Never been disappointed yet. Their range is good and I'd be surprised if you can't find what you're looking for.
