| Registered User | I have just started working with wood and I have been given a 1 horsepower shaper that has never been used and runs great. The problem is where do you find 1/2" shaper cutters? There do not seem to be many of them out there. I was wondering if you could change out the spindle and put in a 1/2 router collet and then use 1/2 routers bits of which there are plenty available. The shaper is cast iron with a stand and is made by Craftsman. However, Sears has not been very helpful in trying to solve my dilemma. So I have decided to ask the Routerforum,is there a source and solution for this issue or do I have a 1 horsepower white elephant. |

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi rambling You can buy tons of cutters from Grizzly and they do make a fixture (collet nut and shaft) BUT I'm not sure it will work on the Craftsman shaper,,, that you can put on the machine to take on 1/2" router bits.. You will need to drop a dime and give them a call to see if they have one that wil work... besure to get your mike out and write down all the info they will need... http://grizzly.com/ http://grizzly.com/products/searchre...aper%20cutters http://grizzly.com/products/3-4-HP-Shaper/G0510Z ========== see part number 102,103,104 in the PDF file http://www.harborfreight.com/manuals...5999/95668.pdf ============== Quote:
