| Registered User | Hi All, I've been a Shopsmith owner/user since the early 80's working from my attached two-car garage. The problem was always move the cars out, pull out the Shopsmith, do some work, put away the Shopsmith, bring the cars back in. Next day... same thing. I recently built an unattached 24' x 28' workshop. I've picked up some equipment (table saw, digital radial arm saw, drill press, etc.) at a local auction at unbelievable prices. My plan is to sell the Shopsmith and have a shop with just standalone equipment. I also picked up a nice router table at the auction. It still had a router in it. My experience with routers has always been handheld fixed base routers. I've always wanted to do some table work, but never had the room. So, while Googleing for information/recommendations on what the best type and brand of router would be for the new-used table I came across your forum. It looks like I've found a pretty good source of both information and help. In my readings while searching, the concensus seems to be that a good plunge base router would be best for the table. Next time I'm logged on I'll begin looking through the forum for some previous posts by forum members that might help me with my search. Thanks and Hello to all. |
