Default Hi y'all!

My name is Trish. My husband Ryan and I live in NC, and are dual military.

We recently started looking at little (and not so little!) projects to improve our house. We recently put in laminate countertops and a new sink in the kitchen, and it was easy and a lot of fun. On the list is crown moldings, built-in bookcases, and a corner window seat in the sunroom.

Problem is, we are close to complete newbies as far as woodworking goes. First on the list, get the right tools! And of course, look for advice.

Glad to be here, and looking forward to picking the minds of the experts.

Trish

Trish, welcome to the forums. Before you spend any money on tools check around the base you are stationed at. Many bases have facilities you can use for hobby work. Having access to these shops will save you putting out the money for a table saw and other expensive items to make the job easier. Check for local woodworking groups as well. It's always nice to have an extra set of hands for large projects. Good luck!
