| Registered User Jr. Member | Hello all, Brand new to the woodworking hobby and I just bought a Dewalt DW618PK router at Lowes on sale for $199 plus a 10% discount coupon. My father in law gave me an old craftsman router table (model 25444, unfortunately no users manual) which appears to not fit the dewalt 618. I am beginning to have second thoughts on the dw618 since I can't seem to find a table that I can just mount the darn thing on. Everything I've read so far seems to involve drilling new holes modifying other tables to fit the dewalt etc. Is there a table that will fit the dw618 or should I return it and buy something else?? It really is hard to believe that dewalt doesn't make a table for their routers ![]() also I am a little tapped out on tools right now so if there is something out there for the dw618 hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks! |

| Retired Moderator Supreme Forum King | Welcome to the forums! The problem is the router table not the router. You got a great router there and most of the routers out there with the exception of a few Craftsman routers probably wouldn't fit that table. If it was me I would buy about 20.00 in Birch plywood and make a little router table cabinet and get a rockler or a oak park 7 inch plate drilled to fit the DW 618 and drop it in the cabinet top. Lots of stuff on the site on building a rlow cost outer table. Corey

| Registered User Jr. Member | Corey, Thanks for the info. I would rather buy a table that fits the router at this time since I am new to this hobby and really not sure where to start building one. Eventually I would like to build a nice cabinet table. I did weld up a stand for the craftsman 25444 that my father in-law gave me out of some scrap angle iron I had laying around my shop, alas just to find out the dewalt wouldn't fit.....right now I am looking for a bench top model that hopefully I can attach to the stand I built or......I'll just get the welder out and some more angle iron and start the modification process ![]() Thanks, Jim |
