Default New to Forum, Just bought my first router

Started looking at these forums to get a feel for what router would be good to start off with. Bought a Craftsman 17543 combo kit based mainly on recomendations on this forum, and other forums that had links to this forum. Also ordered a 15pc starter bit from MLCS, great value for a starter set and has a reputation for reasonable quality compared to some other sets in the same price range.

I tend to buy tools when I think I can't figure out a workaround- and I can't really figure out how to do the projects I've got planned without a router. In the coming year, I'd be definately using it for roundovers on shelves and a two desks I'll be building, as well as routing out dados for drawers and shelves in the desk carcase.

Already got some tips on the 'general router' forum on what to look for when I take this puppy out of the box. Next project is to build a router table I guess.

Hi Gator, welcome to the router forums.

I answered your other post but, again, congrats on your new router.
