| Registered User Jr. Member | Just found this place - hello to all. Everything I've done in past with a router can be counted on your hands, no need for feet. Just starting this woodworking thing, at a ripe old age. WTH - better late than never. Have a shop pretty loaded up with tools I've been grabbing over years - call me collector vs user I guess. Time and place for everything. Time is now to use. Routers weakest link - 2 PC kits, old 690 and then the 890 series. Addded a new Freud 2200, along with the Router Raizer - both when sale of course. Did I add I been frugal..... Have an Incra 16" Ultra - never been opened either and been on shelf 3 years at least. Picked up the XL Rockler aluminum plate last night. So here we are - have plans for the NY Yankee RT but really think the one from Jointech is better suited to the Ultra - opinions? I'll be asking a lot of stupid questions I'm sure in days ahead. Please suffer thru with me. Joe |

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi RookieGuy I think you'er on the right track the NY Yankee RT top is a bit small for the Incra 16" Ultra but because you are going to make the table and the top that's not a big deal becasue you can make it just a bit bigger... You didn't say if you plan on using the Freud 2200 in the router table, if so you may want to get a bigger plate,,unless you want to remove the handles from the Freud router....but that will nail the plunge part of the router,,,,,you can find a bigger plate that will let you keep the handles in place...so you can pop it out of the router table and use it in the plunge way for the bigger jobs... ========== Quote:

| Registered User Jr. Member | So that XL sized Rockler may be to small w/o removing the handles ? When I looked at the smaller one I knew that would be issue on it - was assuming the large would solve that.Dang - never thought that would be case and sure haven't looked yet since plate just got home with me. Yes-the Freud will be the one in the table along with the Raizer. As long as I am not planning on anything but dedicated to table is there any reason not to yank off the handles if I really need to? Oh the questions ---- they will keep on rolling I see already. ![]() |

I have the Jointech Sawtrain with the cabinet maker system. I had been eyeballing it for some time and then they had a sale (about $200 off) and I couldn't help myself. It's an awsome system.
