Default Introduction/ Decline Cutting Techniques

Hello All,
I am new to the router forum and wish to thank all for welcoming me ..... I have a question that I would like to ask any knowledgable router/ woodworking expert. I am in the mist of building a Stave Drum ( The same consrtuction as wood barrels) and need advise on how to decline cut the following hardwoods (Purple Heart; Cocobolo; Maple; ect.) I have experience with routers and woodworking but am not up on the latest techniques used to complete this procedure without bit or wood blowout damage. Any advise or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Grdumz

Hi gdrumz

You may want to take a look at the new type of bits below, they do a great job and will not give you blowouts the norm....

Multi-Sided Glue Joint Router Bits
some times called Birds Mouth Joint Bit

Good post Bj, I'm sure that will answer gdrumz's question. I do wish members would use their first name, nom de plumes are so impersonal especially on a friendly forum like this one.

Harry, maybe members don't know that they can sign their posts with their first name. I too think it is more informal to use a name than your registered sign in. After all we are one big happy family of woodworkers. Glenmore might be the exception tho!
