Hi everyone, my name is Robert and I live in Ballarat Victoria Australia. Now retired I started out woodworking (with only hand tools I might add) in the mid 1950's. I am a member of the Ballarat Woodworkers Guild Inc - a fine bunch of men and women who are eager to help. I do woodturning, scroll saw work, marquetry, chip carving and I have two routers. One made by GMC I won and the other is a Makita Plunge unit. It might appear that I am well skilled - but at times I know I am master of none. I have looked at this site from time and time and felt I should join in.

Thank you Pete. Spookie - but only last week I looked at your site and was inspired by some of your excellent work. I have visited the U.K. on a regular basis since 1961 and am very familiar with many areas. What City/County are you from?

Thank you for the warm welcome Hamlin, Check Twice, Curious George and Challagan, not forgetting Chippypah. Hope to put some pics up as soon as I have mastered the art of adding them. Today I worked some Silky Oak to use as a base plate for a skeleton clock. I am playing around with a router lathe I purchased about 20 years ago and have never used it. Made in the USA it looks easy - will soon find out. Regards and best wishes. Robert.
