Thumbs up The Dabbler

Hi All...
I'm a 32 year old former Marine, born a son of the South, currently living in Massachusetts. I dabble in wood projects with a meager amount of tools, but I'm slowly building my inventory. I haven't bought a router yet, but with help from this forum I intend to.
I currently work in the semiconductor field as an electronics technician, but woodworking, golf, and fly fishing are my loves. I've got some background in construction and carpentry, as well as carving, though carving is relatively new for me. I'm open to learn anything about routers, i.e., which ones to buy (currently looking at the DeWalt 618PK) as well as information and bits, tips, tricks, jigs, etc.
I look forward to being an active part of this forum, since I can foresee a router being the most versatile and useful item in my entire cache.
