Default Helloooooo

Good day to everyone,
My name is Bill and I live in the little parish of Upper Queensbury in New Brunswick, Canada. I started in woodworking a few years back as a hobby and now look forward to spending full time at it in a few years time when I retire. I convinced my wife to let me turn our dining room in to a shop, it’s not the biggest but I must say it’s the prettiest; this is only temporary of course until I can build something out back somewhat bigger.

My main interest is building Victorian fireplace mantels and screen doors, I do relief carvings on the mantels of ships and well most anything I can think of to make them more interesting, not bad I guess for just starting a couple of years ago but still have a lot to learn.

I guess the main reason for joining the community is to get to know people who have a lot more experience and getting tips to make woodworking easier. The one thing I learned the hard way is that there are some tools you shouldn’t try and save a buck on, spend the extra dollar. An example was the first router table and router I bought from CTC, it lasted all of one day, so since then I bought a Freud from HD and when I can afford it one bit at a time.

Anyway, here’s to learning tips and tricks from the rest of you - Bill
