| Registered User New Member | Hi to all, I am a newbie & have a question: What is the best way to cut plexiglass? I am using it to go behind some stain glass for support, so the edges do not have to be pretty. It is very thin, approx. 1/8". thanks. |

| Registered User Supreme Forum King | Hi, welcome to the router forums. ![]() There are many ways to cut plexi. You can use a bandsaw, tablesaw and the router. I prefer using the router and the tablesaw. Others will chime in soon.

| Forum Contributer Supreme Forum King | Hi froglips7846 Just my 2 cents Stick the plexiglass down to some scrap plywood/MDF with some double sided carpet tape , because it's so thin it likes to jump up off the saw blade ,use a good 80 tooth saw blade to cut it to size.. Freud makes a blade just for this type of job ![]() Put some masking tape on the cut ,it will kelp the chiping/cracking off the edges. Just a note**** 1/8" or 1/4" thick MDF works well for this job then you will end up with both parts at one time the plexiglass and the backer board. I know you said you don't need a backer board this time but it will give you a pattern to cut the 2nd one if needed.. ![]() =========== Quote:
