i'm a newbie in woodworking, and I'm curios. can someone tell me how could i make a finger joint, as in lengthening a board as in table top? i see some furnitures with a fine small zigzag joints on it? but i don't know how to do it? i'm sorry if these might sound funny or very elementary...

Welcome to the forums. JN, your problem is solved with a single router bit designed for making splines. You will find them in all the catalogs.

ALKEN, the solution to your problem is to use the existing cut out to make a template which can be followed by a pattern bit or done with a template and guide bushing. You can learn about these techniques in our jigs and fixtures or templates and guide bushing sections.
